na khalvapi paralokādetya sattvaṃ garbhamavakrāmati; yadi hyenamavakrāmet, nāsya kiñcit paurvadehikaṃ syādaviditamaśrutamadṛṣṭaṃ vā, sa ca tacca na kiñcidapi smarati//

Nor indeed does the mind descend into the embryo having come from the other world; for if it were to descend into it, nothing belonging to its previous body would be unknown, unheard, or unseen by it, and it does not remember that at all.
