tasyāścedaparā na prapannā syādathaināmanyatamā strī dakṣiṇena pāṇinā nābherupariṣṭādbalavannipīḍya savyena pāṇinā pṛṣṭhata upasaṃgṛhya tāṃ sunirdhūtaṃ nirdhunuyāt/
If her placenta has not come out, then one of the women, pressing firmly above the navel with the right hand and holding [her] from behind with the left hand, should shake her thoroughly.
