tasmāttasmin rudatyabhuñjāne vā 'anyatra vidheyatāmagacchati rākṣasapiśācapūtanādyānāṃ nāmānyāhvayatā kumārasya vitrāsanārthaṃ nāmagrahaṇaṃ na kāryaṃ syāt//

Therefore, when he cries, does not eat, or does not yield to obedience elsewhere, one should not pronounce the names of rākṣasas, piśācas, pūtanās, etc., calling them out to terrify the child.
