puṣpaṃ yathā pūrvarūpaṃ phalasyeha bhaviṣyataḥ/
tathā liṅgamariṣṭākhyaṃ pūrvarūpaṃ mariṣyataḥ//
Just as the flower is the precursor of the fruit that is to come in this world, / so the sign named ariṣṭa is the precursor of one who is about to die.
