pratipramāṇasaṃsthānā jalādarśātapādiṣu/
chāyā yā sā praticchāyā cchāyā varṇaprabhāśrayā//
The shadow that corresponds to the measurement and shape in water, a mirror, sunlight, and so forth is the reflection (praticchāyā);
whereas shadow (chāyā) relies on color and radiance.
