na bibharti śiro grīvā na pṛṣṭhaṃ bhāramātmanaḥ/
na hanū piṇḍamāsyasthamāturasya mumūrṣataḥ//
The neck does not bear the head, nor the back its own load,
nor do the jaws [bear] the bolus placed in the mouth of a sick man about to die.
