tasmai jagādāgadavedasindhupravartanādripravaro 'atrijastān/
vātādibhedāttrividhasya samyaṅnijānijaikāṅgajasarvajasya//

The son of Atri, the best of mountains from which the ocean of the science of medicine flows forth, spoke those to him, / regarding the three types according to the distinction of vāta and the others, correctly, innate and accidental, occurring in a single limb and in the whole body.
