annasya paktā sarveṣāṃ paktṝṇāmadhipo mataḥ/
tanmūlāste hi tadvṛddhikṣayavṛddhikṣayātmakāḥ//
The digester of food is considered the lord of all digesters; / for they are rooted in it, their increase and decrease depending on its increase and decrease.
