6.18.133

ārdre virūkṣaṇaṃ, śuṣke snigdhaṃ, vātakaphātmake/
kāse 'annapānaṃ kaphaje sapitte tiktasaṃyutam//
iti kaphajakāsacikitsā/
kāsamātyayikaṃ matvā kṣatajaṃ tvarayā jayet/
madhurairjīvanīyaiśca balamāṃsavivardhanaiḥ//

Drying in a moist [cough], unctuous in a dry [cough], in cough caused by vāta and kapha; / food and drink combined with bitters in that born of kapha with pitta. / Thus ends the treatment of cough born of kapha. / Considering chest-injury cough as an emergency, one should conquer it swiftly / with sweet, vitalising [drugs] that increase strength and flesh.
