tanvāliptaṃ na kurvīta saṃśuṣko hyāpuṭāyate/
na cauṣadhiraso vyādhiṃ prāpnotyapi ca śuṣyati//
One should not make a thinly smeared application, for when dried it cracks like a shell; / and the essence of the medicine does not reach the disease, and moreover it dries out.
