saukṣmyānmadyaṃ vihantyevamojasaḥ svaguṇairguṇān/
sattvaṃ tadāśrayaṃ cāśu saṃkṣobhya janayenmadam//
Thus, through subtlety, wine strikes down the qualities of ojas with its own qualities, / and swiftly agitating the mind that resides there, it generates intoxication.
