jīrṇe 'adhike snehavirecanaṃ syāt phalairvirecyo yadi jīryati syāt/
triṣveva kāleṣvadhike tu śūle tīkṣṇaṃ hitaṃ mūlavirecanaṃ syāt//
When it is severe upon digestion, unctuous purgation is indicated; if during digestion, he should be purged with fruits; / but when the colic is severe at all three times, / sharp root purgation is beneficial.
