gaṅgāṃ &marudgaṇāṃśceṣṭyā pūjayañjayati jvarān/
bhaktyā mātuḥ pituścaiva gurūṇāṃ pūjanena ca//
&`marudgaṇāṃśceṣtān' iti pā-.
brahmacaryeṇa tapasā satyena niyamena ca/
japagomapradānena vedānāṃ śravaṇena ca//

Gaṅgā, and the hosts of Maruts with sacrifices, one conquers fevers.
By devotion to mother and father, and by worshipping the teachers,
by chastity, asceticism, truthfulness, observance of vows,
by recitation, offering oblations, gifting cattle, hearing the Vedas,
