dve pale ca masūrāṇāṃ sādhyamaṣṭaguṇe 'ambhasi/
śṛtāccheṣaṃ ghṛtasamaṃ sarpiṣaśca catuṣpalam//

and two palas of lentils are to be cooked in eight times as much water;
of the boiled [decoction] the remainder equal to the ghee, and four palas of clarified butter,
