dattaḥ śanairnāśayameti bastiḥ kaṇṭhaṃ pradhāvatyatipīḍitaśca/
śītastvatistambhakaro vidāhaṃ mūrcchāṃ ca kuryādatimātramuṣṇaḥ//

Administered slowly, the enema does not reach the receptacle; overly compressed, it rushes to the throat.
Cold, it produces excessive stiffness; excessively hot, it causes a burning sensation and fainting.
