tṛṣyate salilaṃ coṣṇaṃ dadyādvātakaphajvare .
sadyotthe paittike cātha śītalaṃ tiktakaiḥ śṛtam .. 17 ..

To one who is thirsty, one should give hot water in vāta-kapha fever; / in a recently arisen pitta fever, on the other hand, [water] boiled with bitter [herbs] and cooled. (17)
