annaṃ vidagdhaṃ hi narasya śīghraṃ
śītāmbunā vai paripākameti .
taddhyasya śaityena nihanti pitta-
mākledibhāvācca nayatyadhastāt .. 71 ..

For a man's food that has become acidly digested quickly attains complete digestion
by means of cold water;
for it neutralises the pitta through its coldness,
and owing to its moistening nature, it carries [the food] downwards. // 71
