64.2

mūlaṃ taṇḍulavāriṇā pibati yaḥ
pratyaṅgirāsambhavaṃ
niṣpiṣṭaṃ śuci bhadrayogadivase
tasyāhibhītiḥ kutaḥ .
darpādeva phaṇī yadā daśati taṃ
mohānvito mūlapaṃ
sthāne tatra sa eva yāti niyataṃ
vaktraṃ yamasyācirāt .. 2 ..

When one drinks, ground with rice-water, / the pure root born of pratyaṅgirā on a day with an auspicious planetary conjunction, / whence could there be any fear of snakes for him? / When out of sheer pride, confounded by delusion, a hooded serpent bites that root-drinker, / right then and there that very serpent surely goes without delay into the mouth of Yama. // 2
