prajvālitāgnimadhyapamunīya .
galati yathāyathamagre
tathaiva mṛdu vardhayennipuṇaḥ .. 61 ..

Holding it with tongs, raising it into the middle of the ablaze fire, / the skilled [artisan] should increase [the heat] gently, / just as it gradually melts at the tip. (61)
