Kauṭilīya Arthaśāstra 5.6.45

5.6.45
yauvanasthaṃ ca yāceta viśramaṃ cittakāraṇāt /
parityajed atuṣyantaṃ tuṣyantaṃ cānupālayet //
When the prince comes of age, he may request the prince to relieve him from the intellectual worry. He may abandon the king, if he (the king) is displeased; and follow him if he is pleased.
