deśadharmāñ jātidharmān kuladharmāṃś ca śāśvatān
pāṣaṇḍagaṇadharmāṃś ca śāstre 'sminn uktavān manuḥ //
The primeval laws of countries, of castes (gati), of families, and the rules concerning heretics and companies (of traders and the like)- (all that) Manu has declared in these Institutes.
