udbabarhātmanaś caiva manaḥ sadasadātmakam
manasaś cāpy ahaṃkāram abhimantāram īśvaram //

From himself (atmanah) he also drew forth the mind, which is both real and unreal, likewise from the mind egoism, which possesses the function of self-consciousness (and is) lordly;
