tamo 'yaṃ tu samāśritya ciraṃ tiṣṭhati sendriyaḥ
na ca svaṃ kurute karma tadotkrāmati mūrtitaḥ //
When this (soul) has entered darkness, it remains for a long time united with the organs (of sensation), but performs not its functions; it then leaves the corporeal frame.
