vaiśyavṛttyāpi jīvaṃs tu brāhmaṇaḥ ksatriyo 'pi vā
hiṃsāprāyāṃ parādhīnāṃ kṛṣiṃ yatnena varjayet //

But a Brahmana, or a Kshatriya, living by a Vaisya's mode of subsistence, shall carefully avoid (the pursuit of) agriculture, (which causes) injury to many beings and depends on others.
