yad garhitenārjayanti karmaṇā brāhmaṇā dhanam
tasyotsargeṇa śudhyanti japyena tapasaiva ca //

Let him prescribe the same (expiation) when twice-born men, who follow forbidden occupations or have neglected (to learn) the Veda, desire to perform a penance.
