agnihotry apavidhyāgnīn brāhmaṇaḥ kāmakārataḥ
cāndrāyaṇaṃ caren māsaṃ vīrahatyāsamaṃ hi tat //

A Brahmana who, being an Agnihotrin, voluntarily neglects the sacred fires, shall perform a lunar penance during one month; for that (offence) is equal to the slaughter of a son.
