vittaṃ bandhur vayaḥ karma vidyā bhavati pañcamī
etāni sthānāni garīyo yad yad uttaram //
Wealth, kindred, age, (the due performance of) rites, and, fifthly, sacred learning are titles to respect; but each later-named (cause) is more weighty (than the preceding ones).
