guruvat pratipūjyāḥ syuḥ savarṇā guruyoṣitaḥ
asavarṇās tu sampūjyāḥ pratyutthānābhivādanaiḥ //
The wives of the teacher, who belong to the same caste, must be treated as respectfully as the teacher; but those who belong to a different caste, must be honoured by rising and salutation.
