anārogyam anāyuṣyam asvargyaṃ cātibhojanam
apuṇyaṃ lokavidviṣṭaṃ tasmāt tat parivarjayet //
Excessive eating is prejudicial to health, to fame, and to (bliss in) heaven; it prevents (the acquisition of) spiritual merit, and is odious among men; one ought, for these reasons, to avoid it carefully.
