vedān adhītya vedau vā vedaṃ vāpi yathākramam
aviplutabrahmacaryo gṛhasthāśramam āvaset //

(A student) who has studied in due order the three Vedas, or two, or even one only, without breaking the (rules of) studentship, shall enter the order of householders.
