upaveśya tu tān viprān āsaneṣv ajugupsitān
gandhamālyaiḥ surabhibhir arcayed daivapūrvakam //

Having placed those blameless Brahmanas on their seats, he shall honour them with fragrant garlands and perfumes, beginning with (those who are invited in honour of) the gods.
