yasmāt trayo 'py āśramiṇo jñānenānnena cānvaham
gṛhasthenaiva dhāryante tasmāj jyeṣṭhāśramo //

Because men of the three (other) orders are daily supported by the householder with (gifts of) sacred knowledge and food, therefore (the order of) householders is the most excellent order.
