kārukānnaṃ prajāṃ hanti balaṃ nirṇejakasya ca
gaṇānnaṃ gaṇikānnaṃ ca lokebhyaḥ parikṛntati //

The food of an artisan destroys his offspring, that of a washerman his (bodily) strength; the food of a multitude and of harlots excludes him from (the higher) worlds.
