adhastān nopadadhyāc ca na cainam abhilaṅghayet
na cainaṃ pādataḥ kuryān na prāṇābādham ācaret //
Let him not place (fire) under (a bed or the like); nor step over it, nor place it (when he sleeps) at the foot-(end of his bed); let him not torment living creatures.
