na māṃsabhakṣaṇe doṣo na madye na ca maithune
pravṛttir eṣā bhūtānāṃ nivṛttis tu mahāphalā //

There is no sin in eating meat, in (drinking) spirituous liquor, and in carnal intercourse, for that is the natural way of created beings, but abstention brings great rewards.
