rājño mahātmike sthāne sadyaḥśaucaṃ vidhīyate
prajānāṃ parirakṣārtham āsanaṃ cātra kāraṇam //

For a king, on the throne of magnanimity, immediate purification is prescribed, and the reason for that is that he is seated (there) for the protection of (his) subjects.
