santi mety uktvā diśety ukto diśen na yaḥ
dharmasthaḥ kāraṇair etair hīnaṃ tam nirdiśet //
Him also who says 'I have witnesses,' and, being ordered to produce them, produces them not, the judge must on these (same) grounds declare to be non-suited.
