paitṛkaṃ tu pitā dravyam anavāptaṃ yad āpnuyāt
na tat putrair bhajet sārdham akāmaḥ svayam arjitam //

But if a father recovers lost ancestral property, he shall not divide it, unless by his own will, with his sons, (for it is) self-acquired (property).
