anapatyasya putrasya mātā dāyam avāpnuyāt
mātary api ca vṛttāyāṃ pitur mātā hared dhanam //

A mother shall obtain the inheritance of a son (who dies) without leaving issue, and, if the mother be dead, the paternal grandmother shall take the estate.
