bhūtacchalānusāritvād dvigatiḥ sa udāhṛtaḥ /
bhūtaṃ tattvārthasaṃyuktaṃ pramādābhihitaṃ chalam //

Because it may be founded either on truth or on error, therefore it is said to have two issues. Truth is what rests on true facts. Error is what rests on mistake of facts.
