yatra vipratipattiḥ syād dharmaśāstrārthaśāstrayoḥ /
arthaśāstroktam utsṛjya dharmaśāstroktam ācāret //
Where the rules of sacred law and the dictates of prudence are at variance, he must discard the dictates of prudence and follow the rules of sacred law.
