Performing the six duties, he should offer a food offering to the household deities. Having given food to a Veda-learned Brahmin, or to a chaste student, he should immediately thereafter give to the ancestors; then he should feed a guest in accordance with the proper order of precedence; among his own household, the unmarried girls, children, the elderly, and pregnant women first, and then the other members of the household; he should cast offerings on the ground for dogs, outcasts, sinners, and crows. He should give the leftovers to the Shudras; the ascetic should eat the remainder. If, after the all-deities offering has been made and all has been consumed, a guest should arrive, he should specially have food cooked for him; for it is known that the Brahmin guest enters the house as the universal fire. Therefore, having fed him to avoid calamity, he should attend upon him until he departs to the boundary, or until dismissed. In the dark fortnight, after the fourth day, he should make offerings to the ancestors. Having assembled on the previous day Brahmins who are ascetics, householders, or virtuous men of advanced age who do not follow improper pursuits, Veda-learned Brahmins, pupils, and resident students, he should feed even virtuous students, excluding those who have white spots, are excessively greedy, have black teeth, have leprosy, or have deformed nails.
Now they also quote:
If those who know the mantras are afflicted by bodily blemishes that spoil the table-line, / Yama has declared them unblemished; such a one is indeed a purifier of the table-line.
