tadeva lagnaṃ sudinaṃ tadeva tārābalaṃ caṃdrabalaṃ tadeva .
vidyābalaṃ daivabalaṃ tadeva lakṣmīpate te'ghriṃ yugaṃ smarāmi .. 2

That alone is the auspicious ascendant, that alone the fine day, that alone the strength of the lunar mansion and the strength of the moon,
that alone the strength of knowledge and the strength of destiny—O Lord of Lakṣmī, I remember the pair of Your feet. (2)
