Nārada: / “When multicolored radiant beams are stirred by cloud-bearing winds / and positioned in the sky, that is seen as Indra's bow; / or it is produced from the deep exhalation of the serpent king Śeṣa. / Arising in intermediate directions, it brings rain in the cardinal directions; [otherwise] it withholds rain. / A double bow that is unbroken, intense, and inverted / brings death to kings; but if it is favorable, it is auspicious. / Here, since no specific propitiatory rite is stated, the rite prescribed by Garga will be explained.”
