"He who, clad in an animal hide, bearing the Pināka bow, severed the head from the breath of Brahmā—may that god, Īśāna, grant us life; to him I offer oblations of ghee, svāhā!"—This is for Īśāna. 1.
"Shining forth from the midst of the waters, radiant, the hot-rayed one has come to you; may that god deliver us from death's curse and dreadful snare, and eat our ghee here for [long] life!"—This is for the hot-rayed one. 2.
"The mighty light whom the consort of Brahmā bore as a manifold, victorious embryo; radiant with gold, seizing the rays, praising the sun—him we increase with ghee for [long] life!"—This is for the light of Brahmā. 3.
"Fortune, Lakṣmī, Aupalā, Ambikā, Cow, Ṣaṣṭhī, Jayā, Indra's army, they declare her; that wisdom whose source is brahman, identical in form, we satisfy here with ghee for [long] life!"—This is for the source of brahman. 4.
"The daughters of Dakṣa, of all wombs, of common wombs, thousands of manifold forms, of excellent forms; with sons, with husbands, with herds—may they enjoy this ghee for our [long] life!"—This is for the daughters of Dakṣa. 5.
"The divine hosts, many-formed, ancient, life-cutting, may the heroes not strike us down; to them I offer repeatedly with ghee: do not harm our offspring nor our heroes!"—This is for the daughters of Dakṣa. 6.
"He who alone existed in the beginning, whence arose the protector of the world; unto whom the world dissolves at the end of time—may that god enjoy here our offering of ghee for [long] life!"—This is for Īśāna, Brahmā. 7.
"The Vasus, the Rudras, the Ādityas, the Maruts, and the Sādhyas, the earth, the sky, the stars, the Gandharvas, the Viśvedevas, the Pitṛs, the Bhṛgus, the Serpents, and all the Aṅgirases—having offered ghee to them, we magnify our life-giving strength forever!"—This is for the Vasus and others. 8.
"O Viṣṇu, grant us your closest protection, O conqueror; for your streams dripping with honey milk out an inexhaustible spring!"—This is for Viṣṇu. 9.
Thus is the single oblation at the end.
