Of Śanaiścara — the planet Śani:
Of the mantra 'śaṃ me 'gnir agnibhiḥ', the ṛṣi is Irimbiṭhi; the deity is the planet Śanaiścara; the meter is uṣṇih. The application is in the worship of the planet Śanaiścara together with his presiding deity and secondary presiding deity for the sake of attaining the grace of the planet Śanaiścara.
Imposition on the hands: imposition on the heart and other limbs:
'śaṃ me 'gniḥ' — salutation to the thumbs, salutation to the heart;
'agnibhis karat' — salutation to the index fingers, svāhā to the head;
'śaṃ nas tapatu sūryaḥ' — salutation to the middle fingers, vauṣaṭ to the tuft of hair;
'śaṃ vātaḥ' — salutation to the ring fingers, vauṣaṭ to the three eyes;
'apa sridhaḥ' — salutation to the palms and backs of the hands, phaṭ to the weapon.
