This very same rite is to be understood in the case of atmospheric evil portents. As a distinction here, he should offer ten hundred thousand [oblations] with the Sāvitrī mantra. With an attentive mind, he should perform the homa and the ghṛtakambala ceremony. / The ghṛtakambala will be explained later. / Twelve cows along with a hundred niṣkas are to be given. When [this is] given to the preceptor, he pacifies the atmospheric evil portent. Thus ends the propitiatory rite for an atmospheric [portent].
