etaiḥ samāparādhānāṃ tatrāpy evaṃ prakalpayet | bālavṛddhāturastrīṇāṃ na daṇḍas tāḍanaṃ damaḥ

In that case too, one should determine thus for those with offences equal to these: / for children, the elderly, the sick, and women, punishment is not beating, [but] verbal restraint.

For those whose offence is equal to these, one should impose the same; for children, the old, the sick and women there is no punishment by beating, (only) a fine.
