jartilās tu tilāḥ proktāḥ kṛṣṇavarṇā vanodbhavāḥ | jartilāś caiva te jñeyā akṛṣṭotpāditāś ca ye

Jartilas are said to be black-colored wild sesamum seeds; / and those are also to be known as jartilas which grow without cultivation.

Wild sesame (jartila) is said to be sesame black in colour that grows in the forest; and those that grow without ploughing are also to be known as jartila.
