homaśeṣaṃ samāpyātha śrāddhaśeṣaṃ samāpayet /
punaḥ pākena sadyo vai śrāddhasya karaṇaṃ smṛtam //
Having finished the remainder of the fire offering, he should then complete the remainder of the ancestral rite; / the immediate performance of the ancestral rite by means of fresh cooking is traditionally taught.
